Taxonomy

 

Currently, BDMS, the public company located in Thailand, there is not yet requirement for Thai companies to conduct identify and disclose the Company’s revenues, capital expenditure and operating expenditure that are in line with Taxonomy framework. Currently, working group from Bank of Thailand and Thailand Security Exchanges is in the process to develop ‘Thailand Taxonomy Phase 1’ focused on two sectors: energy and transportation. In February 2024, the Thailand Taxonomy Board commenced meetings to initiate the development of Thailand Taxonomy Phase 2’ focused on Manufacturing sector, Agriculture sector, Real estate and Construction sector, and Waste Management sector. 

However, no such official guidance on Thailand Taxonomy is launched. The working group will engage in discussions and solicit feedback from sector experts, including the Thai government, business, civil society, academia, the financial sector, and international organisations.      A public consultation on the draft Thailand Taxonomy Phase 2 is expected to take place in the 4th quarter of 2024. Additionally, BDMS is in the initiate process to conduct research and gather relevant information to assess the capability to identify the potential business activities which are classified as eligible and/or aligned with the leading taxonomy frameworks e.g., EU Taxonomy, and/or ASEAN Taxonomy. 

However, as BDMS is Health Care Providers & Services sector, we are willfully waiting for an updated from Bank of Thailand (BOT) who conducted the Thailand Taxonomy Board, and aims to establish a principle-based taxonomy in other phases which’s includes Health Care Providers & Services sector"
